Preferred Tees
The GHIN Handicap system is the determining factor in flighting members for our tournaments. For those members who feel due to physical ability or injury they are unable to play/compete at tees relative to their handicap index, an allowance to play from designated tees can be requested. This can be achieved by making a written email request to the Preferred Tee Committee detailing the specifics/reasons for the request. The Preferred Tee Committee’s job is to consider requests from members that will allow them to continue playing tournament golf while protecting the field. The committee will review any member's request by looking at their playing history (distances, slopes, course ratings) and consider the impact (flight payouts, voluntary skins, and closest to the pin contests) of the request to the field of golfers the member competes against.
● No need to request preferred tees if you already play tees relative to your handicap index. If you have no special need(s), simply play the tees where tournament committees place/flight you for your handicap index.
● No requests will be accepted from new members. Members must have a tournament history with the club before a request can be considered.
● No requests will be considered to move back tees (e.g. moving from White Tees to Blue Tees).
● Only requests to move from: Black to Blue; Blue to White; and White to Gold will be considered.
● Preferred tees will be used for Tournament and Match Play brackets that members participate in.
● All requests MUST be received by the Preferred Tee Committee no later than March 15th of the current year.
● Approved requests are ONLY GOOD for the year in which it was requested and approved.
● Only requests due to a medical condition will be considered during the current season after the March 15th deadline.
